Jay Tibbs, 1990 Fleer #192

You see that big ugly old green wall behind Jay Tibbs? Right about now I'd like to burn it to the ground and then write my name in the ashes.

We were winning when I left the house, lost by the time I got back. Big surprise..... not.

On a positive note... the son of an old friend is pitching well in his second year in the O's chain. Jake Cowen is 2-0 at Delmarva, picking up a win tonight over Hagerstown. He's a former UV star and his Dad flew up to see him pitch tonight. I'm real glad he got to see Jake pitch well and get a win.

These games just feel predetermined. It's a question of "Who will f@$* it up tonight?" Tonight's winner, Matt Albers. And, why do Oriole rallies always fall one-run short? After their first couple hits in the ninth last night, I knew (KNEW!) they would score that sixth run but be unable to tie the game.

Unless they somehow start winning, I'm taking a break for a while. I'll watch them again when they head to Minnesota. At least there will be a pretty new stadium and an MVP to look at.

Bob - I hadn't heard of Jake! I'll be sure to track his progress.

FTB - I only watched last night because Matusz was pitching. I'm sort of sorry I did.

Boy am I out of the loop. I read the post talking about the Shorebirds playing the Suns and thought, "When did the Orioles lose the Suns as a minor league affiliate"? Well, I looked it up - it only happened 18 years ago!

Tim - Yeah, it's been a minute. Hagerstown has made the rounds since then...I have no idea who they belong to now.
