Mike Devereaux, 1996 Collector's Choice Silver Signature #468

Two days ago, I was talking about the return of Mike Bordick to the Baltimore organization. The same day, I heard that Mike Devereaux was also coming back into the fold. The former O's outfielder has signed on as the field coach for the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds, who also announced that hitting coach (and ex-Orioles third baseman) Ryan Minor has been promoted to manager. If nothing the else, the Birds are putting together a staff at the major and minor league levels that could kick some serious butt in Old-Timers' games.

Whoa...Ryan Minor as manager. That is interesting to me. If this guy makes it to the big leagues as manager, suddenly my forgotten autos of him become Joe Torresque!

It's great seeing all these former O's coming back. Now they just need to get Billy Ripken and B.J. Surhoff back. I would love to see Surhoff coaching and one day managing.

I missed seeing that Ryan Minor got promoted to manager. I'm happy for him - ever since I saw him coach in the Atlantic League, I thought he would make a good manager.

Field of Cards - By all accounts he's a pretty good hitting coach. Perhaps he'll climb the ladder!

FTB - Yeah, I think Surhoff would have a job in Baltimore should he ever be interested.

Paul - You certainly don't have to be a star player to be a good manager. Ask Earl Weaver.

Gorgeous signature! One of the best I've seen.

Steven - I like that he signed it "Michael". That sig is too fancy for "Mike".
