Ellie Hendricks, 2004 Upper Deck Timeless Teams #49

This is why you can't often go wrong with new cards featuring old players. There's an excellent action shot of Ellie Hendricks on the front, letting loose with the sort of powerful swing that inspired the nickname "the Babe Ruth of Mexico". But this card gets even better when you flip it over and see the beautiful, full-color photo of old Memorial Stadium. Just soak it in, and tell me you don't feel like you're back on 33rd Street with Rex Barney, Chuck Thompson, and the O's. "Ain't the beer cold!"

  2. I loved watching games on TV of old Memorial Stadium and seeing the homes beyond the outfield fence.

  3. How about the drive to get to 33rd St? It was all the way on the North side of town and you drove through all the neighborhoods getting there!

  4. Night Owl and Tim - One of my only childhood memories of Memorial Stadium is walking back through the neighborhood to get to our car after we left my first game.
