The Orioles got rid of Arrieta and kept Matusz. That's an early-2000s kind of front office move.

I keep trying to talk myself into liking him...

Zach - It's not just that they cut bait on Arrieta. It's that they traded him for a rental of Scott Feldman and a few years of Steve Clevenger. At least they flipped the Cleve for Trumbo.

Rob - He seems like a lovely person. As a baseball player...nah.

I've been too into the hockey playoffs to pay attention to baseball yet, but I've followed Matusz since he passed thru on the local A-ball team, and then debuted in Detroit when I was there visiting. Seemed like he found a role as the setup guy, but guess he's on a slide since the latter part of last year...? Too bad. I may have a shot at becoming a Matusz supercollector. Won't be the first time. One of my other PC's is the Boise State quarterback that won them the Fiesta Bowl on '07 who ended up on the bench for a few years in the NFL and then has been in Canada for the last few. My Joe Shlabotniks, if you will...
